Google Dark mode: On Monday, July 6 The information giant Google announced its rolling out of the dark theme support for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

The company says in a blog post that all the android users will be able to gain access to the google dark mode feature in the next two weeks. Most importantly, the users can easily activate the dark mode like any other apps on Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides can automatically enable your Android theme setting.

 

According to the G Suite (Google) latest blog on DARK THEME, they have said that the setting for Docs, Sheets, and Slides will be able to adjust automatically when the Android system is set to use Dark theme. However, the users will also be able to turn dark mode on or off the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides independently. If the users will do this, each of the applications will always be in the selected theme regardless of the Android system settings.

Moreover, here is how you can turn on the dark mode easily on your android devices for all the Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

  • Tap the Menu > Settings > Theme and then select according to your preferences like Dark or Light theme.
  • The feature will be usable even in low light environments
  • The feature will not require any necessary action. In other words, it will automatically respect the android system settings. 

During the past years, this theme has been added to many of its applications including, Google Calendar, Gmail, and Google app. However, one of the most popular apps of Google is Google Maps but currently, it does not support the dark mode yet.

Is it available for iOS users?

The theme currently only supports Android devices and will be rolling out for the next couple of weeks. It could take a while to reach all smartphones. Therefore, anyone using these apps on their iOS devices has to keep a hold on to their light theme for a while.
